"the churches of Christ salute you" (Rom. 16:16)

Jesus said, "Assuredly, I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste of death till they see the kingdom of God present with power" (Mark 9:1).  He told His apostles, "I will build my church...and I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 16:18-19).  Upon the first Pentecost after the resurrection of Jesus Christ, His church was established in the city of Jerusalem (Acts 1-2).  For the first time in history individuals were "added to the church" (Acts 2:47).  In the New Testament, the terms "church" and "kingdom"often refer to the same institution (Colossians 1:13; 4:16).  The prophets of the Old Testament spoke of a kingdom that would be established in Jerusalem (Isaiah 2:2-3) during the days of the Roman Empire (Daniel 2:36-45).  Joel prophesied that a day was coming when the Holy Spirit would be poured out on all flesh and that deliverance would come from Jerusalem (Joel 2:28-32).  Acts 2 records the fulfillment of these wonderful prophecies!  The church/kingdom of God is on earth today.

The church of Christ at Mammoth Spring, Arkansas is a group of people who believe in following God's plan for the church as revealed in the Bible.  We strive to do everything "in the name of the Lord" (Colossians 3:17).

Our worship is simple and follows the pattern that is revealed in the pages of the New Testament.

  • Praising God in song with "the fruit of our lips" (Heb. 13:15).

  • Weekly observance of the Lord's Supper (1 Cor. 11:23-26).

  • Weekly contribution to the Lord's work (1 Cor. 16:1-2).

  • Public prayers to God (Acts 12:5).

  • Preaching that comes from the inspired word if God (2 Tim. 4:2-5).
